Silver Linings Playbook: It is possible to make a new start?

  

Pat and Tiffany wish to start from scratch. It's a drama, comedy and romance movie written and directed by David O. Russell (Fighter) which had been called for 19 nominations (Best Movie, Best Actor for Bradley Cooper for the role of Pat Salatnao and Best Actress for Jennifer Lawrence for the role of Tiffany Maxwell.)

They weren't pampered by life: Pat is bipolar and Tiffany lost her husband after 3 years of marriage. Both of us are trying to put their life in order. Tiffany will help him to get his wife back and Pat will help her for a prestigious dance competition. Through those dance trainings the two characters are beginning to discover their personalities by going beyond the prejudices and apperances. (Tiffany is supposed to be an easy girl and Pat a lunatic.) 

The duet is very annoying at the beginning of the movie: they're always screaming on each other but progressively new links are arising. Silver Linings Playbook is a breath of fresh air because this movie isn't a common comedy: through all the movie heavy atmosphere is present and at the end with the funny and beautiful dance scenes lightness is appearing. 

The most surprising is the duet Cooper/Lawrence and their wondeful performance all along. The movie is very creative and doesn't fall into clichés. I'm not going to tell you everything about the movie to let you discover it by yourself. ENJOY !

L'amour reste un thème universel et intemporel... La fenêtre panoramique de Richard Yates montre sous microscope l'histoire d'un jeune couple avec plein d'orgueil. Je vous laisse donc découvrir l'histoire (mais ne vous dévoile pas toute l'intrigue) et n'hésitez pas à visionner le film de Sam Mendes. ENJOY !

Revolutionary Road is a novel written by Richard Yates (an American writer). In his book, he portrays a young couple which has some difficulties to separate ideals from reality. April is an actress but she is also playing her own life. She looks like Emma Bovary (Flaubert)... because she'll suffer the same fate. Frank, his husband, doesn't like his job but contrary to his wife, he accepts his life. Richard Yates depicts us the breakdown of these two persons. Sam Mendes' movie adaption with Leonardi DiCaprio and Kate Winslet is really interesting ! I encourage you to read the book and to see the movie. ENJOY !

The Help ou La couleur des sentiments a été l'un des plus beaux et intéressants films de l'année 2011 (enfin pour ma part !). C'est pourquoi, j'ai décidé de vous faire une petite critique dessus et que j'ai accompagné d'une petite sélection look sixties ! Les tendances mode de cette période reviennent actuellement, avec la petite robe à fleurs, le corail ou les tons orange qui, comme vous le savez surement, sont PARTOUT ! Ou encore les tons pastels avec le look jaune de Jessica Chastain (Célia). Il ne faut surtout pas oublier les lunettes papillons et les coiffures rétro toutes en volume et vagues ! ENJOY !

The Help is one of my favorite 2011 movie and one of the best and amazing movie of the last year (in my opinion !). That's why I made a little summary and explanation of it. I accompagnied this review with a 60's fashion set-up. Because the sixties are back and thanks to the movie we can see all what they wear at this time and how these girls have a good sense of fashion ! For example with the yellow jumpsuit of Jessica Chastain (Célia) or with the little flowers dress. Don't forget the retro glasses and the way they do their's hair (waves and volume) to be the queen of the 60's ! ENJOY !

Un livre, un film et au final ça nous donne une belle histoire. My sister's keeper ou Ma vie pour la tienne nous donne à voir et à lire une belle leçon de vie, je vous laisse découvrir ma petite critique... ENJOY !

A book, a movie and finally it gives us a beautiful story. My sister's keeper give us to see and to read a wonderluf life lesson, I really advise you to see the movie (with Cameron Diaz, Abigail Breslin and so on) and to read the book. It speaks about the fight of a little girl and its family against illness. Hope you'll enjoy the movie and the book (but don't be afraid of weeping a little...) ENJOY !

Ce film à l’affiche depuis la mi-décembre est une adaptation du roman pour enfants : L’invention d’Hugo Cabret écrit par Brian Selznick. (Le roman a reçu en 2008 l’unes des plus importantes distinctions pour les livres pour enfants : la médaille Caldecott.)

L’histoire se déroule à Paris, dans les années 1930. Hugo Cabret est un petit garçon qui se retrouve orphelin à l’âge de 12 ans. Son père, horloger, laisse derrière lui chagrin et mystère. Hugo vivra dans une gare et tentera de résoudre l’énigme de l’automate. Il se jette corps et âme pour retrouver la clé qui lui permettra de faire fonctionner l’automate et de découvrir le dernier message que son père lui a laissé. Ainsi, il se retrouve plongé dans une aventure pleine de rebondissements et péripéties. Il se lie d’amitié avec Isabella et font renaître l’œuvre de Georges Méliès qui n’est autre que le père des effets spéciaux et le créateur du premier studio de cinéma en France.

Le film est à voir par tous et est fait pour un public assez large au final. Ce n’est pas seulement un conte pour enfants mais plutôt une belle leçon de vie où les personnages se découvrent. Ce film nous plonge à la fois dans la magie et dans la réalité : le monde de l’horlogerie finit même par fasciner. Je pense que ce film représente un peu le rêve de chaque enfant : partir à l’aventure car celle-ci ne se trouve pas uniquement dans les livres, créer une amitié forte, etc. Le rôle d’Hugo Cabret est poignant, on y voit un jeune garçon abandonné par la vie et une vision naïve du monde nait à travers le spectateur. C’est en tout cas, une belle façon de rendre hommage à Georges Méliès et c’est un film que je vous conseille si vous avez envie de retomber dans l’enfance ou tout simplement pour le plaisir des yeux. ENJOY !

Hugo Cabret is an adaptation of a book for kids: The Invention of Hugo Cabret which is written by Brian Selznick. (The novel received in 2008 one of the most important distinctions : la médaille de Caldecott.)

The story takes place in Paris, in the 1930s. Hugo Cabret, 12, is an orphan. His father, watchmaker, leaves behind him: sorrow and mystery. Hugo will live in a station and will try to resolve the automaton's enigma which will allow him to discover the last message that his father left for him. He discovers friendship with Isabella. He also discover Georges Méliès's who is the father of the special effects and the creator of the first cinema studio in France.

The movie is made for everyone. It is not only a children's story but also rather a beautiful lesson of life. This movie plunges us at once into magic and reality. I think that this movie represents the dream of every child.. Hugo Cabret's role is poignant, we see a young boy given up by life and a naive vision of the world born through the spectator. It is in any case, a beautiful way of paying tribute to Georges Méliès and it is a movie which I advise you to see if you want to fall again into the childhood or simply for the pleasure of your eyes. ENJOY !

Crazy, Stupid, Love est une comédie romantique qui ne laisse pas indifférente ! Un film drôle et émouvant à la fois.  John Requa et Glenn Ficarra (I love you Philip Morris) nous propose 2 heures de bonheur : des scènes très humoristiques et sans jamais tomber dans la lourdeur s’il vous plait, un peu de pathos par moment (mais tout juste ce qu’il faut !), des scènes où le romantisme est justement maitrisé, bref un mélange de genres parfait !

Cal Weaver a réussi sa vie ou presque… 25 ans de mariage, trois enfants et un métier stable. Cependant, sa femme Emily lui avoue son infidélité. A partir de là, Jacob décide de l’aider et de faire de lui « un homme, un vrai ». Au final, les deux apprennent l’un de l’autre : Jacob tombe amoureux et Cal réussira à reconquérir sa femme.

On y retrouve Julianne Moore et Emma Stone, deux jolies rousses qui rendent ce film époustouflant ! Sans oublier le beau Ryan Gosling jouant le séducteur par excellence. (Cet acteur joue habituellement dans des films indépendants tels que Blue Valentine ou encore All good things). Les personnages sont attachants et se dégagent une certaine alchimie lorsqu’ils jouent ensemble : par exemple les scènes avec Cal Weaver/Jacob Palmer ou encore Robbie/Jessica. Je ne vous en dit pas plus, un film à voir absolument ! ENJOY !

Crazy, Stupid, Love is a comedy and a romance movie which doesn’t leave you unmoved. Funny and moving at the same time ! John Requa and Glenn Ficarra (I love you Philip Morris) give us 2 hours of happiness.

Cal Weaver is happy, he is married with Emily since 25 years and has 3 children. In addition to that he has a stable work. His wife tells him that she cheated on him. From this moment, Cal changes a lot (physically and in his mind).

A beautiful cast: Ryan Gosling, Julianne Moore, Steve Carell and Emma Stone. I suggest you to go to the cinema to see this movie ! ENJOY !

10 ans... Cette histoire a bercée toute mon enfance ! Je dévorais chaque livres, chaque mots et puis les films sont apparus comme par magie ! Ils m'ensorcelaient tout comme ces histoires de sorciers et de sorcières. Qui n'a jamais rêvé quand il était enfant (et j'avoue même maintenant...) d'entrer à Poudlard, de voler sur des balais, de faire parti du clan "Potter" et surtout d'avoir une baguette magique ! Ah, et dire que je sors tout juste du cinéma avec la plus grande fan de France de cette saga (si, si je vous assure !) et je viens de dire adieu à ce monde, à cet univers, aux personnages (la minute larmoyante). En tout cas, je ne veux surtout pas vous raconter l'histoire (par respect pour ceux qui veulent découvrir ça tout seul) mais vous dire que la seconde partie du dernier volet est juste époustouflante !

Je suis restée figée durant deux heures devant toute cette magie, le combat final, les amours grandissants, les spectateurs qui pleuraient (je sais bien que c'est fini mais quand même !)... En tout cas, si vous avez du temps, de l'argent et que vous avez envie d'en sortir sans voix: je vous propose d'y aller et de découvrir ou redécouvrir le monde fabuleux de la magie ! ENJOY !

10 years... This story nourish my childhood ! I read all the books, watch each movies ! Who never dreamt of being a wizard? of going to Poudlard? A universe, a fantstic world with wonderful people: it's just an amazing worl (I think I'm really in love with theses movies and books. I admire J.K. Rowling for the universe that she created and for her talent.

I just came back from the cinema and I don't want to tell you the final part of the final story (for people who haven't see yet the movie) but I just wanted to tell you: GO AND SEE this movie ! ENJOY !

Dean et Cindy sont deux jeunes parents qui se sont aimés. Dean croit au coup de foudre, à l’amour véritable mais Cindy semble plus septique. J’ai trouvé ce film totalement remarquable ! Blue Valentine est un film indépendant qui est loin des grosses productions américaines que l’ont trouvent depuis pas mal de temps. 

Il  bouleverse, nous sommes plongés dans une histoire avec des hauts, des bas et un couple qui se bat pour exister. Après l’avoir vu, je me suis posée pas mal de questions ! Je trouve qu’il remet un peu en cause notre conception de l’amour, du bonheur à deux, du mariage et nous montre que c’est un combat de tous les jours et que finalement rien n’est acquis dans la vie. 

Je ne vous en dis pas plus pour ne pas vous gâcher le plaisir ! En tout cas, c’est un film que je vous recommande ! ENJOY !

Dean and Cindy are young and they have a little girl. He believes in love, in love at first sight but Cindy seems to be more skeptical. This movie is totally remarkable ! Blue Valentine is an independent movie far away from all the big American productions like Transformers !  

It moves deeply, we always are with them, in their story and we can see them fighting to make their love real. After watching it, I have a lot of questions about love conception, happiness and marriage. It shows us that love is a battle and we have to fight everyday for it because nothing is taking for granted. 

I’ll not say anything more I’ll only say: go to the cinema and watch it ! ENJOY !
